About
The purpose of this course is to further the students skill in drama as a literature, craft and performing art. This is a performance based class.
Assignments & Grading
60% Tests Grades
40% Daily Grades
Participation is an enormous component of this class. Since it is a performanced based class you must participate in every activity that is assigned. I can not give you a grade if you choose to to “sit out” or “take a zero”.
We will read, watch, and listen to a variety of pieces and works this year. You will love some of them, but unfortunately not all. However, I hope that you learn an appreciation for the ones you do not enjoy. Remember that it is someone’s “blood, sweat, and tears”.

Mandy Fortenberry
My name is Mrs. Mandy Fortenberry. This is my 16th year to teach and my 13th year at Hardin-Jefferson. I love it here! I teach Theatre Arts I, II, III, and IV. I graduated from Lamar University in 2000 with a Bachelors’s degree in Fine Art and Communication. I currently coach UIL Prose, Poetry, Extemporaneous Speaking, LD Debate, and I am the One-Act Play Director.
